Love

Love is not in the tiny fireworks that go off when hands are held, or in the soft caress of your head by his/her hand. Love is much more than physical and emotional involvement. Love is tall order, it is all of 1 Corinthians 13.

Who, then, is going to feed our souls to love other people?

I like how my friend and mentor, Rosalind puts it: 'we are all beggars for bread.' We are all hungry for love and security. We search through so many things to satiate the craving within to make us complete but we never do, but find ourselves suffering from the very things we go for.

Jesus says, 'Do not work for food that spoils, but for food that endures to eternal life, which the Son of Man will give you. On him God the Father has placed his seal of approval.' (Jn 6:27-28) He also promises that 'I am the bread of life. He who comes to me will never go hungry, and he who beleives in me will never be thirsty...all that the Father gives me will come to me, and whoever comes to me I will never drive away.'(Jn 6:35-37)

Our Lord and Saviour has shown us where the oven is. Let us all go to the oven for our daily bread. And remember to marry the one who feeds from the same bakery, otherwise just go home and chomp on Gardenia!
